But the Flowers Got in the Way,

I wanted to go for a walk today,

But the flowers got in the way.

I wanted to go to the track and run,

 Burning some calories sounded like fun,

                  But the flowers got in the way.                                                 

. 

The sun was out and my shoes were on,

Dishes were done and I'd mowed the lawn,

But the flowers got in the way.

I started to walk, I really did want to go,

But Mother Nature decided to put on a show,

I wanted to go for a walk today.

When the trees are in bloom and their fragrance is in the air,

Sometimes you need to stop and sit and smell and stare.

I wanted to go for a walk today,

But the flowers really did get in the way.

Today I stopped and smelled the Daphne - I wish I could share that with you.
