Garden Party

Garden Party

(I changed some of the words of Ricky Nelson's "Garden Party" to fit my needs.  Sorry Ricky but the words didn't fit my Garden Party)

I took these pictures at a Garden Party in Watsonville.  The ladies of the San Jose Garden club let me join them occasionally.  I've enjoyed every trip I've been on with them.  The menu for the luncheon was Veggie Lasagna, fresh artichokes, fresh tomato salad and for dessert we had our choice of apricot or berry pie.  Wonderful lunch

I went to a garden party

To reminisce with Paulie's friends

A chance to share old memories

And play our songs again

When I got to the garden party,

They all knew my name (had on a name tag)

No one recognized me,

I really did look the same.

But it's all right now, I learned my lesson well.

You see, ya can't please everyone, so ya got to please yourself.

People came from miles around, everyone was there

Zelda brought her camera so there was magic in the air

'n' over in the corner, much to my surprise

A bit of heaven in a tray was the lasagna and apricot pies.

But it's all right now, I learned my lesson well.
You see, ya can't please everyone, so ya got to please yourself.

And that's what a Garden Party did for me - it pleased my-inner-self.
